Welcome to Field Operator. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of fieldoperator.ai, our email newsletter, and any free resources we provide (together, the "Service"). By subscribing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Field Operator publishes field notes, playbooks, templates, and other resources about putting AI to work in hands-on businesses. Content is provided for general informational and educational purposes.
The Service shares one operator's experience and opinions. It is not legal, financial, tax, accounting, safety, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your specific situation. You are responsible for how you apply anything you read here, including any use of AI tools, templates, or policies. We make no guarantee of any particular result. Where we provide a template (such as an AI use policy), you must review and adapt it — and have it reviewed where appropriate — before relying on it.
We discuss and link to third-party products, platforms, and services (for example, AI tools). We don't control them, we aren't responsible for them, and mention is not endorsement or a guarantee. Your use of any third-party tool is governed by that provider's own terms and pricing, which can change. Any trademarks belong to their owners.
The content of the Service — articles, designs, and branding — is owned by Field Operator or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read and use it for your own informational purposes.
Templates and downloadable resources (such as the Context Starter Pack) are provided for you to use and adapt inside your own business. You may not resell them, repackage them, or redistribute them as your own product. Please don't republish our articles in full without permission; short quotes with attribution and a link are welcome.
You agree not to: misuse or disrupt the Service; attempt to gain unauthorized access; scrape or bulk-download content except as permitted; use the Service to violate any law; or use it to build or train a competing product without our permission.
The newsletter is currently free. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email. We may change, pause, or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content is complete or current.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Field Operator and Mike Roberts will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, data, or business, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or your reliance on its content. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the prior 12 months (which, for a free newsletter, is $0).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Field Operator and Mike Roberts from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version here and revise the effective date. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located there, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
